What is Palindrome Sudoku?

Palindrome Sudoku is a Sudoku variant where grey lines are drawn on the grid. Each grey line is a palindrome — the sequence of digits reads the same forward and backward. Standard Sudoku rules still apply: every row, column, and 3x3 box must contain each digit 1 through 9 exactly once.

How do palindrome lines work?

The digits along a grey line must form a palindrome. For a 5-cell line, the first cell equals the fifth, and the second cell equals the fourth. The middle cell (third) is unconstrained by the palindrome rule — but still must obey standard Sudoku uniqueness.

Can palindrome lines overlap with each other?

Yes. Two palindrome lines can share cells. A shared cell must satisfy the palindrome constraint of both lines simultaneously, which can sharply restrict what digit can go there.

How do I start solving easy Palindrome Sudoku?

Find the shortest palindrome lines first — a 2-cell line means both cells are equal, which combined with row/column uniqueness greatly limits possibilities. Also look for palindrome endpoints that share rows or columns with many given digits.

How is Palindrome Sudoku different from regular Sudoku?

Regular Sudoku gives you pre-filled digits as clues. Palindrome Sudoku typically has fewer givens and instead provides visual line constraints. The palindrome relationship between paired cells adds a second layer of constraint on top of standard uniqueness.
